assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh :)

hi, call me imra/imok. 24. i'm a/an: ENFP, muslimah, wife, proud indonesian, dentist (wannabe), parents-complex daughter, and part-timer otaku.

this daily journal is basically a small window of my life. i write about everything, whether it's important or not. sometimes, it's not even serious. so don't expect too much from this blog. don't try to judge me based on my writings, because i'm much more complicated than you could imagine. and i never mean to hurt anyone by my words, so pardon me if somehow i offended you. last but not least, i've been writing here for more than 5 years, people changes, so do i. thanks, happy reading.

being fake

have you ever worried about ‘being fake’? for not being yourself or act differently from how you actually feel? sometimes, we unconciously mistaken our own good intentions with this wrong term.

you know, when you’re not pleased by someone’s act but decided to stay calm and patient, i believe that that’s not what we called as being fake. it’s being self-composed. when you realized that you’re not comfortable around certain person, but still decided to put a warm smile whenever you meet them, that’s not being fake. it’s called kindness.

when you’re actually not a sociable person but choose to attend your friends’ hangout invitation, it’s not being fake. it’s self improvement. when you knew about someone’s bad past but choose to act like you don’t know a thing and keep a positive mindset while interacting with them, it’s not being fake. it’s called being considerate.

the fact that human never could live alone but has tendency to hurt each other is the reason why we have to constantly watch over our behavior. it’s not about lying to yourself or put a mask in front of others. there’s nothing wrong about trying to be a better person towards people around us.
